Why We Built This Site
Public access in Kansas depends on knowing both the record and its custodian. Kelsee Burnett, Chief Clerk of the District Court, maintains Stevens County District Court papers and the case index. Municipal ordinance matters stay with the relevant city court, while federal cases use federal systems. The Kansas Courts Public Access Portal can locate eligible state district cases, but a courthouse terminal or clerk request may reveal public material that is not online. We assemble the official contacts, number formats, search routes, and request steps needed to navigate those layers.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Stevens County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to a Kansas court, clerk, or agency. Its role is limited:
- We cannot give legal advice about a charge, order, deadline, or case
- We cannot issue a certified docket, order, or court document
- We cannot alter, seal, remove, or amend any case record
- We cannot reset, cancel, or confirm a hearing on the court's behalf
- We cannot retrieve an official case file for a visitor
- We cannot promise that a listed fee, contact, or setting remains current
An official or certified court record must come from the clerk or court that maintains the original. This resource can identify that office but cannot supply the document.
Search Partners
Third-party companies power search boxes on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports site operation. We do not set the provider's charges or determine what its search returns.
